Las Vegas, United States - Making its debut at this years Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) Show at the Las Vegas Convention Centre, Subaru has revealed its Legacy GTk concept.

Mixing unique style with versatility the Legacy GTk is based on the Subaru Legacy wagon.
The GTk (k for kart) comes with its very own Coyote Motorsports XP go-kart, which fits snug into the rear cargo area.

The Subaru Legacy GTk isn't your ordinary, everyday wagon. Specialized Vehicles, Inc. (SVI), has made some extensive changes which include a liftgate spoiler, midgate spoiler, rear diffuser and blackout-style HID headlights (that were sourced from the Japanese domestic market (JDM) Legacy).

SVI also applied its own custom parts, including a front air dam for better aerodynamics, fog lights, lateral bonnet vents, custom window tint. The final touch from SVI is a custom black-over-red paint scheme, giving the Legacy GTk more of a race car look.

The Legacy GTk has a new 6-speed manual transmission, that is borrowed from a 2010 Legacy 2.5GT Sedan. A modified exhaust system and reprogrammed ECU help the 2.5-litre turbocharged engine produce 225kW and 475Nm of torque.

SVI built a custom quad-tipped exhaust system for the Legacy GTk, giving the Subaru Boxer a more aggressive note. Under the bonnet, the engine is decked out with braided stainless hoses and brake lines and SPT anodised aluminum parts.

The chassis is upgraded and lowered using a SPT strut tower brace and Bilstein struts, suspension calibration and STI "pink" springs. A full Brembo brake upgrade uses 6-piston monobloc calipers in front with 355 x 32 mm 2-piece floating cross-drilled discs and billet aluminum hats. The rear setup is the same, but with 4-piston calipers.

The car is fitted with 19-inch Comp wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich P245/50 R19 Force-KDW 2 tyres.

Changes to the interior where made for comfort and functionality. The custom-made "kart friendly" cargo area has rubber decking, tie-down points, and LED lighting. And for comfort, there is a full custom Ultrasuede and leather trim interior that has Recaro Sportster custom front seats and custom matching rear seats.

Other changes to the interior include instrument panel and doors featuring carbon fibre patterned inserts, custom boost, temperature and oil pressure gauges and STI aluminum pedals.

Wired for sound the Subaru Legacy GTk features a harman/kardon custom surround-sound audio system that has 18 speakers with an 11-channel high efficiency GreenEdge processor/amplifier.

The system is controlled by a harman/kardon AM/FM/XM/single-CD head unit with a 7-inch touch-screen display.

Built by Coyote Motorsports, the XP kart is powered by a Yamaha KT-100 two-stroke engine and can reach up to 80 km/h in SCCA Solo racing and up to 190 km/h in road racing.
