Los Angeles, America — Unveiled at the 2007 Los Angeles Motor Show, the Suzuki Makai concept uses "spirited colors" and has a "playful design" according to the Japanese company. The
purpose of the concept is to gauge the reaction from west coast
Americans towards a possible beach small car with open air motoring and
lots of practicality. Based on the all-new 2008 model SX4 Sport,
Suzuki says that the dedicated open-car bodystyle makes for breezy
fun-in-the-sun motoring - the perfect ingredient for an exhilarating
driving experience. The vehicle was fabricated and painted by Andry Specialty Vehicles of Torrance, California. Sitting
on 19-inch CEC alloy wheels, fitted with wide Michelin Pilot sport
tires, it also gets high grade brakes: four-wheel disc brakes with
drilled and slotted rotors and Rotora calipers. The body features a multi-step sunset orange paint job, a custom body kit, LED taillights and a customised exhaust pipe. According
to Suzuki, beachgoers and surf aficionados are going to appreciate the
vehicle as it features a custom surfboard mounting rack and dual
matching sunset orange trimmed boards. There's even a 'shaved'
windscreen and targa rear hoop to add to the occasion. Inside
the Makai concept is what Suzuki calls an 'al fresco' feel, with
ventilated, suspended seats in all four positions, a tub-thumping beach
party-themed VeaLink audio system with MTX speakers and components,
dashboard-integrated Garmin navigation system, Kinetik Power Cell
battery, StreetWires audio/video install kit and cabling, a Momo Sport
steering wheel and color-keyed interior accent lighting. Related Articles: - Suzuki
