Tokyo, Japan
- Toyota has officially released mechanical details of its egearly anticipated FT-86 Concept. As
our previous reports suggested the Toyota FT-86 will be powered by a
2.0-litre boxer engine from Subaru that will feature Toyota’s D-4S
injection system, sending power to the rear-wheels is a six-speed
manual or automatic with paddle shifters and a limited slip
differential. The Toyota FT-86 has some pretty compact dimensions with a total length
of just 4.16 meters and a height of 1.26m (width and wheelbase are 1.76
and 2.57 meters), which gives the compact sports coupe a low center of
gravity. With such compact dimensions and its front-engine rear-wheel-drive setup, the Toyota FT-86 is shaping up to be one fun ride indeed. There has been no further word on the cars official release, but stay tuned for more information.
