Jet
Boating delivers just as
many thrills as a theme park
|
When
it comes to experiences that are bound to keep a couple together - you
can't really go past a huge amounts of G-forces and tightly
strapped
harnesses... and the fear of death.
Admittedly, thrill seeking
couples are bound to find common ground on a holiday
adventure,
especially in a place like the Gold Coast. It literally is a city
catered 100% to those who, well, actually like to do things.
If
you want scones and tea, head to the Yarra Valley.
If you're young and
still pretty certain that Death isn't knocking on your doorstep any
time soon, then
there is simply no better place to be than in the waters of the coast.
Our first adventure on our week long jaunt in the Sunshine state took
off from the banks of Sea World Resort.
After
a bit of a dip in the Seaworld Resort pool and a quick meal we headed
over to the docks
where we were met by our guide. We were in luck, thanks largely to the
off-peak season, and had the dizzying option of going for
something
other than the Extreme Jet Boat - which turned out to be the Jet Ski!
Prepare yourself for extreme exhilaration...
Forget
waiting in line at a theme park for a 30 second burst of adrenalin -
there is nothing more thrilling than climbing on a jet ski and being in
control of your own fate at speeds which would make Bruce Willis cower
in fear.
The beauty of the Jet Ski, and all of the
options on offer
through Extreme Jet Boating (including the
awe-inspiring fun of
para-sailing) is that it is perfect for couples.
Whether taking
control of the situation yourself - or the riskier option of putting
your life literally in the hands of your significant other - this is a
rare experience that neither partner is likely to forget.
There are a bunch of great deals on offer, all easily
affordable, to suit any thrill you wish to seek.

Jet Skiing is a great
way for couples to bond

While waiting to hit high speeds,

For mine, there is no going past the
heart-stopping combo of high speed slides and
turns, 360° spins, power slide stops, wave riding and fish tails in
water only inches deep of the Extreme Jet Boat.
Built
by Hamilton Marine in New Zealand, the Tour Boat is
constructed of marine grade aluminum and is built to withstand the
rigours of high-speed jetboating.
Powered by twin 5.7-litre V8
Chevy engines, pumping out roughly 600 horsepower, 'The Beast'
(as it is known
up on the coast) propels by way of two 212 Hamilton jet units,
which enables the boat to slide and do the amazing 360° spins, whilst
the driver retains ultimate control.
This
high G-force aquatic thrill ride is well worth checking out and is just
as exciting as any rollercoaster - sometimes moreso. For more
