After a hard day on the slopes, nothing beets a tasty beer
|
 |
So you've been skiing or snowboarding all day? You have come back to your accommodation, eaten some (* Insert any food which takes less than 5 minutes to prepare here *) had your first drink and are ready to hit the town (As cold and impractical as in reality that proposition is).
Where Do You Go?With
the snow being as it is, extremely cold, you do not want to be walking
around all night trying to find a cool place with cool people, great
drinks and fresh tunes.
So sit back while we go through the best places for a great alpine nightlife experience.
Mt Buller
My own mountain so I may be a little biased but I always have a great night out here.
It
might be the relaxed atmosphere of the places or it may just be cheap
drinks but this can sure be a fun place no matter what night of the
week.
Moosehead Tapas Bar After
a day out on the slopes, head to the perfect apres-ski venue downstairs
at the Abom, the Moosehead Tapas Bar. Relax by the roaring open fire
with a gluhwien, a thirst quenching beer or a soothing wine from the
extensive wine list.
Summit Road, Mt Buller T: 03 5777 7899
Kooroora Kitchen Positioned
within the famous Kooroora Hotel, the Kooroora Kitchen provides skiers
and boarders with home-style hearty meals with an innovative touch, as
well as tasty bar snacks. The beers are cold and plentiful so drop by
here for a few drinks with friends.
Village Square, Mt Buller T: 03 5777 6712 Mt Hotham
Nightlife
at Hotham is fun and frantic, with plenty of people letting their hair
down in bars and clubs of various sizes across the entire resort. Mt
Hotham's choice of nightlife is nothing less than extensive with places
to suit all tastes and interests.
Swindlers Located
in Hotham Central, Swindlers is the heartbeat of Hotham. After dinner
service Swindlers comes alive to the sounds of the hottest bands and
DJ's from around the country.
The General The
General is famed for its nightlife, with something happening almost
every night. From DJ's to darts nights, live music to comedy with DJ
Eddy, the General has something for everyone long after the lifts have
stopped spinning.
Falls Creek
Falls
creek caters to a wide variety of tastes featuring everything from wine
and vodka bars, to down and dirty pubs and clubs. So whether it's tunes
or a sophisticated drop you are after you will find what you are after
at falls.
The Bass Bar Always
something going on at this place! Downstairs, this is where some of the
biggest names in the country hit the stage. Some of the previous
headlines include. John Course, The Living End, Bliss and Eso, and
Spiderbait to name just a few.
Frying Pan Inn Great value meals & snacks - Lunch & Dinner. Entertainment. Happy Hour 5-6pm. The people, the drinks, the atmosphere are what makes this place really unique.
Perisher Blue
Perisher
Blue ski resort is all about winding down the way you like to. Whether
it is a romantic candlelight dinner, casual conversation in an intimate
lounge, or dancing in a high energy nightclub, Perisher Blue has
something for everyone.
Clancy’s at The Man Popular bar with live music, dj's, cheap drinks and a convent location in the center of the village. The Man – Perisher Valley

Sundeck Hotel Low
key place with a great warm atmosphere. Enjoying a comedy night on
Tuesday nights is a great way to relax after a full day on the slopes.
Thredbo
Thredbo's
nightlife is a definite draw card, offering a diverse selection of
restaurants and nightspots to assist you in ruining your next days
skiing.
T-Bar Restaurant The
T-Bar Restaurant, one of Thredbo's most popular licensed restaurants,
is centrally located in the Village Square. For beer lovers, Guinness
and Coopers are on tap.

Black Bear Inn This
German/Austrian style lodge has a cosy restaurant and bar with European
character. Open till late everyday but Tuesday's this is a great place
to unwind.
