When
people think 'Aussie Ski Resorts' their mind almost immediately taken
to the lush planes of Victoria
and New South Wales. Not many will think of Tasmania (home of apples
and Australia's most famous mass murder) and often react the
same way when told that it's slopes are better than most - with sheer
surprise!
The truth of the matter is that Tasmania does
have a ski resort and its name is Ben Lamond. Ben Lamond is Tasmania's
premier ski resort with a surprisingly good level of infrastructure and
on-mountain accommodation. Further south from Ben Lamond you will find
another little snow haven, Mount Mawson. Probably one of the best
things about snow in Tasmania is it is never too far away. Ben Lamond
sits a lazy one hour from the city central. Perfection!
